The 2026 date

Hindu Endowments Board set fire-walking day as Sunday 1 November 2026 at Sri Mariamman Temple, 244 South Bridge Road, Singapore 058793. Padukalam, the fire-pit climax, is listed in the 2026 brochure at 04:00 on 1 November. Male participants walking on the pit join a foot procession from Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple on Serangoon Road and end at Sri Mariamman. That start is in Little India. The Chinatown end is South Bridge Road, beside Jamae Mosque and facing the shop houses.

How to watch, not how to walk

If you are not a registered devotee, you watch. You do not enter the pit. Stand on South Bridge Road, keep the roadway clear for the procession, and do not block the temple gates. Usual Sri Mariamman hours outside festival peak: morning 06:00 to 12:00, evening 18:00 to 21:00, Friday evening to 21:15. On 1 November those hours yield to the ritual. Use the live stream if the street is full.

Registration, still open until 31 October

Paalkudam, angaprathachanam, kumbiduthandam, and fire-pit walking need online registration. HEB: no walk-in ritual tickets at the temple. Portal: heb.org.sg and events.smt.org.sg/events. Straits Times: registration opened 24 September and closes 31 October 2026, 23:00. Pre-event rituals started 24 September. Male kanganam (fire-pit crossing) ages 16 to 21 must register in person at Sri Mariamman, 10 to 26 October, 19:00 to 20:00, with a parent or legal guardian.

Silver Chariot, 2 November, Keong Saik

Monday 2 November 2026 from 18:00, the Silver Chariot of Sri Drowpathai Amman stops first at Sri Layan Sithi Vinayagar Temple, Keong Saik Road, inside this precinct, then Waterloo Street and Serangoon Road temples. That is the in-district follow-on if you miss 04:00 on the 1st.
