Counsellor (Part-time)

Key Responsibility Areas

• Provide individual, marital and family counselling, and/or group therapy sessions to clients
• Conduct proper intake and assessment of client issues, develop treatment plans and implement such plans towards the fulfilment of therapeutic goals
• Collect and maintain proper and confidential client records and programme documentation, including counselling case notes, treatment plans, and feedback forms
• Respond to helpline calls from help-seekers and follow up on such calls
• Prepare and deliver talks, training and workshops on addiction and mental health-related issues
• Participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities
• Work collaboratively with other departments to support programmes, communications, administrative functions and corporate events
• Give talks to the public and/or peers in the social service sector on topics such as mental health and addiction

Candidate Requirements

• Master’s degree in counselling
• Good interpersonal skills and communication skills
• Familiar with Google and Microsoft Workspace applications
• Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Strong organisational and administrative skills for maintaining accurate client and programme records
• A heart for people – Empathetic, adaptable, and resilient in addressing diverse client needs, in relation to their struggle with addiction
• Team player

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

• At least 2 years of experience in counselling
• Registered counsellor with a recognised professional body (e.g., SAC, SPS)
• Knowledge of the social service landscape
• Experience in frontline service providing services to members of the public
• Experience in addiction counselling, particularly in sex/pornography
