It’s peak hours of Friday night and there was a long queue of patrons waiting to be seated. We were accommodated fast upon arrival coz we don’t mind sharing table with others. My husband and I ordered fried rice, fried pork, and fried dumplings. In less than 10mins the food arrived. Food are great for their price point. If you don’t mind crowd of happy and noisy folks ; and you just want to fill your tummy with some good Chinese foods at affordable price, I highly recommend this place 👌🏾. I will be back to try other mouth watering dishes and make sure to bring along friends! 🥘

You can take the boy out of China, but you can’t take the China out of the boy. Every couple weeks I need me my Chinese food. This place serves northern Chinese cuisine. So expect heavy use of msg, sichuan peppercorns and sour notes. First off I asked them to make an egg fried rice. Sometimes I just need the classics. So why not also add mapo tofu to the order. We order the sweet and sour pork, this one comes super thinly slice with a strong sour taste (in a good way), the crispy special pork too, it comes with a side of secret dust for you to dip in (is not bad). The stir fried cabbage is always a winner with their vinegar taste. Dumplings are delicious as well. Money move is to add the chili oil to the fried rice. Place is super wholesome and they have great customer service. Do come in and try their food is really good.

First try after hearing rave reviews. Would say decent and pleasant dining experience. Food came fast and furious. Generous portion but don't feel it's spicy enuff. 辣子鸡 tad disappointing, didn't finish 80% of the plate. Personal highlight is the cold noodle and 锅包肉. So so good! Ordered 15 dishes. A hearty feast!

One of the better chinese restaurants I have eaten in SG. Chinese food generally tends to be quite 重口味 and oily, but their dishes are not overwhelmingly so and are still possible to finish up even without rice. The food are flavourful and authentic. One of my go-to places for chinese food whenever I am around the area.

A fiery, flavour-packed dinner at Dong Bei Ren Jia, located next to the Poon Yue Association 番禺会馆, housed in a historic 1879 building that blends Neo-Classical and Art Deco styles—an architectural choice once favoured by Chinese developers keen to project a modern image. The restaurant specialises in the bold abd hearty northeastern Chinese cuisine. Standouts include the zesty Shredded Potato— the quick stir fry takes out the raw bite from the potatoes, but they are still lightly crisp at the core, the aromatic and rich Mapo Tofu, and the flavour-packed Suan Chai Fish, with its tangy, savoury broth. For something more adventurous, the Lamb Gun, a grilled cumin-seasoned lamb tendon, delivers a unique chewy texture and smoky depth. However, the only letdown of the evening was the Lazji Chicken, where the meat was unfortunately over-fried, lacking the juiciness one would expect. Still, Dong Bei Ren Jia’s diverse offerings make it a worthy destination for those craving an authentic taste of northeastern China that comes with a friendly price tag.

5th time back here and I can tell you that their food quality has consistently been really good. They are one of the rare shops where their vegetable dishes are really worth mentioning 😍 Their Di San Xian ($8) is a must order here. I have been ordering this each time I come here and it's always been so good! The vegetables are stir-fried very well to their right doneness, and the sauce has a good mix of sweet and savoury that is simply addictive. If you love your eggplant, theirs were very well executed. The Stir Fried Chilli Cabbage ($8) was another hit. The fresh crunchy cabbages absorbed the flavours well, and I liked how it had a tinge of numbness that was well appreciated. Lovely flavours coming from the chilli oil they used too! Just in case you haven't had enough potatoes from the first dish mentioned, the Potato Dry Pot with Pork ($12.50) was another lovely sharing dish. There wasn't much pork to begin with (it's not the main ingredient anyway) but if you can find them, they were lovely with its tender meat 😍 the potato pieces were just slightly snappy with a creamy inside which was delicious. Liked how it was drenched in a spicy savoury sauce which is perfect with rice! Definitely coming back here again very soon 😂

My friends recommended this restaurant to me, and I have to say—it was a great pick. I’m not completely new to Northeastern Chinese cuisine, having tried it multiple times while living in Beijing. Based on my knowledge and experience, I’d say the food here is quite authentic. The highlight for me was the Guo Bao Rou (Fried Pork in Scoop). The pork used isn’t too lean, so it stays juicy, and the batter is light and perfectly fried. The sauce is rich, slightly tangy, and refreshing—it’s honestly hard to stop after just one piece. We also had the beancurd skin as an appetizer, which turned out to be surprisingly delicious. Each piece was thoroughly soaked in sauce, giving it a very flavorful and satisfying taste. The Di San Xian (sautéed potato, green pepper, and eggplant) was another standout. The distinct flavors of the three ingredients were all well expressed and blended beautifully into a truly delicious and balanced dish. The rest of the dishes we ordered were also very good, and the portions were generous. Overall, this is definitely a solid spot if you’re craving genuine northeastern Chinese food. I’d happily come back again.

This restaurant is located in Chinatown, 东北人家 offers an authentic taste of Northeastern Chinese cuisine in a comfortable, air-conditioned setting. Service is swift, and the wait time is reasonable. Their dishes are cooked with care and high quality, but the highlight is undoubtedly their dumplings—perfectly textured, flavorful, and simply splendid. Whether pan-fried, boiled, or steamed, they deliver a true taste of home-style cooking. We love their fried pork! It’s marvellous. A must visit if you haven’t been here. — at 东北人家 Dong Bei Ren Jia.

Best to make reservation than doing walk-in to avoid queuing to wait for a table. The dishes come in one standard size. Food was reasonably price and tasty but don't expect good service from the staff here. The dishes were flavourful but slightly oily. However, the dish that left the deepest impression was 拔丝地瓜. A simple dessert made from sweet potato but yet taste amazingly good.
