as a Singaporean i truly enjoyed every bit of the tour! it was 2-3 hours but with plenty of delicious food stops to enjoy the local delicacies while taking a break from the hot sun. the route was well-planned and meaningfully thought out, and it feels like a tour that both locals and tourists alike will enjoy. i got to see so many murals and learn so much about Chinatown that i didn't know about before. i'm glad this experience has launched in Singapore :)
It's basically an empty plot of land unless an event is occurring such as the annual Pink Dot event, which I attended for the latest version (Pink Dot 2017). It was quite eye-opening and fun as well. A note though, foreigners aren't allowed into Speaker's Corner at Hong Lim Park, a government policy. It's Singaporeans and PRs only, sorry tourists! 😦
Cool green park with benches to relax. Overlooking cityscapes. Nice place to take a break from walking and sip of iced Yuanyang from Market Street Hawker 500m away. Lovely sunny days ahead!
It has a speakers corner, so what are you waiting for...if you have something to say.
It also has a stage of some sort, where there was dancing going on.
Beautifully maintained open area garden park that showcases both the courtesy and care of the residents and the workers responsible for maintenance. It has an open air stage, a walking circuit, a few bench seats around the perimeter, bins for any rubbish and a Speakers Corner for public gatherings. The Park Royal hotel and its beautiful garden platforms overlook it.
It has security cameras and it's quite well lit at night.
It also adjoins an entrance to the MRT (Rail/train) system.
It is quite a beautiful park to sit and relax in, catch up with friends, exercise, play ball sports (albeit no court).
This green space was my go to on down time from touring. Much better than time spent in a hotel room!
