Chinatown is Singapore's vibrant heritage district and major tourist attraction, established under the Raffles Town Plan as home to Chinese migrants and evolved into a dynamic cultural hub. This historic conservation area features beautifully restored shophouse-lined streets, traditional markets, and significant religious landmarks including Thian Hock Keng Temple and Sri Mariamman Temple. Visitors can explore the Chinatown Heritage Centre with its immersive exhibits showcasing early Chinese migration, interactive museums, and authentic 1950s shophouse recreations. The district offers rich cultural experiences including heritage trails, street art by renowned muralist Yip Yew Chong, bustling food streets, vibrant festivals during Chinese New Year and Mid-Autumn celebrations, and diverse shopping at traditional markets and modern malls. With its blend of preserved architecture, living heritage, and modern attractions, Chinatown serves as both a window into Singapore's multicultural past and a thriving contemporary destination celebrating the island nation's cultural diversity.Hours not available

I don't think this Chinatown is as exciting as I thought it would be in my head. Makes for interesting photos during day or night.

A must place for tourists. It’s a beautiful night life where we can see so much of culture reflecting China. A evening walk is a must here. Nice Chinese restaurants are there

Singapore’s Chinatown was more beautiful than I expected. the buildings are colorful and elegant and the whole place looked like a painting 🎨 It also reminded me of the arcades in italian cities 🇮🇹 they weren’t just pretty but they were practical too. great for shade under the hot sun and shelter during rainy season
