Lan Zhou La Mian, affectionately known as "Noodle Man," is an authentic hand-pulled noodle restaurant located at 19 Smith Street in the heart of Chinatown's famous Food Street. This establishment has earned a reputation for changing people's perceptions of Lanzhou lamian with their exceptional hand-pulled noodles that showcase perfect springiness, texture, and substantial chewable presence. Their standout dishes include the highly acclaimed Zha Jiang Mian (炸酱面) with savory bean sauce, and an innovative Singapore Hokkien Mee made with fresh hand-pulled lamian noodles that has become a local favorite. The restaurant also serves excellent xiao long bao soup dumplings and delicately seasoned fried tofu with crisp, thin skin surrounding a silken interior. Operating from 12:00pm to 3:30pm and 6:00pm to 10:00pm, this long-standing establishment offers both traditional Lanzhou specialties and creative fusion dishes that blend authentic Chinese techniques with local Singaporean flavors, making it a unique culinary destination in Chinatown's vibrant dining scene.
2 or 3 slices of ultra thin beef. Noodles is so soft and without any texture at all. Ate 1/5 and left the rest. Side dish is tasteless as well. The only good thing is the soup and service.

Overall rating 2/5
If you’re like me wondering why this place has raving reviews with 5 stars and equal amounts of 1 star ratings. You can rest assured that the 5 stars may have been 5 stars for someone but it was definitely not worthy of raving reviews.
Everything was very so-so. Nothing was inordinately good and nothing was terrible. But if you’re gonna have a wall of trophies and pictures of ppl making handmade noodles - I’m expecting some hype.
- it was only so-so;
- don’t call it Lanzhou noodles when it’s not authentic;
- I understand that rent is expensive and business is difficult, but 3 plates of noodles, 1 xiaolongbao, and 1 shuijiao (dumplings) is definitely not worth $70 sgd.

Interesting concept of handmade noodles! The wait was fairly long, probably due to the fact all noodles are handmade perhaps. Enjoyed the sides dishes more than the mains actually. Affordable, although portion can be small. Overall experience good!

We were introduced to this place by Inside Singapore(Korean Singapore Trip Information Community).
This place gave me a really great experience. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly.
The chef makes the noodle by his own hands, so the noodle is very delicious. And the dumpling was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

We went for lunch and the 6 of us spent about $90 on 3 noodles, 3 dumplings & the spring onion pancake. Food’s excellent and the seasoning has been customised to Singaporean taste. Place is small and I wish the aircon could be stronger.

Hand pulled noodle shop that sits quietly in the busy Smith Street, it seems to have stood the test of time for quite many years. Owner couple are lovely, food tastes authentic, noddle texture is justnright. has an old school charm.
