we ordered buffet. very overpriced. the sashimi was subpar and farmed. clearly norwegian sashimi and not authentic japan food. the sashimi sushi was terrible. chawanmushi is nothing to write home about. the mentaiko fries were slightly below borderline. the best dish were the free mentaiko scallops they gave. will not return.

I had weekend lunch with my family about a month ago. We were given a complimentary oyster, which was mediocre, and the only dishes that stood out were the à la carte prawns (not pictured) and the grilled cod fish. Speaking of the grilled cod fish, we waited a long 45 minutes for it. After checking twice with the waitress, she kept saying the kitchen was preparing it. Then, we overheard a kitchen staff member raising his voice in frustration as he reacted to our inquiry. Since our table was right outside the kitchen, we could clearly hear him shouting that they weren’t just grilling cod fish for our table alone. He even banged his frying spatula loudly against the pan or wok, sounding visibly upset. The experience was far from pleasant.

This is probably our fourth visit in the past decade - and there’s definitely a reason we keep coming back. Despite the many new dining options popping up over the years, this place has remained one of our go-to spots for a satisfying and memorable meal. We opted for the Regular À La Carte Buffet instead of the Premium one at $59.90++, simply because the regular menu already offers such a wide variety of dishes. From appetizers to mains and even sides, the selection is impressive and more than enough to keep us happily full. Every dish we ordered was a hit. From the moment the first plates arrived at our table, we were impressed by the presentation and attention to detail. The quality of the food was consistently top-notch - flavours were well-balanced, and ingredients fresh. Just take a look at the photos we snapped during our meal… they speak for themselves! Service was also excellent. The staff were attentive, friendly, and efficient. We also appreciate that there doesn’t seem to be a strict time limit for the buffet, so we could take our time to enjoy each dish at a comfortable pace. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience once again. Great food, great service, and great value for the variety and quality offered. We’ll definitely be back!

Mitsuba Japanese Restaurant is a hidden gem for sushi and Japanese cuisine lovers. The sashimi is incredibly fresh, the portions are generous, and the buffet offers excellent value for money. Service is warm and attentive, and the ambience is cosy yet elegant—perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. Highly recommend their premium buffet if you want to indulge in quality sushi and teppanyaki. Will definitely return!

Excellent service - everyone was so lovely. Shoutout to Som for being pleasant and kind. Their food menu is great…diverse options! Sashimi is fresh, chicken wings are to die for! Food came out quickly at the start but started to slow down after (from 8pm onwards) but that’s normal given the orders that comes in for them. No seating period which is amazing. We had 2 hours of awesome food and fantastic service. Thank you to the chefs as well! Will bring more friends over, highly recommended!

A good ala’carte buffet with fresh sashimi and sushi. Currently a promotion. 1 dined free with every 3 paying adults. Extensive selection of sashimi, sushi, tempura, and other Japanese dishes. Known for generous portions and fresh ingredients. Advantage here there is no time limitation at all. 11:30am to 2pm for lunch. 6pm to 10pm for dinner. Servings tends to slow down when the restaurant is crowded. So do be patient.
