辣子鸡 is quite good. Meat is tender even though its a deep fried dish. The restaurant's noise level is too deafening. Advise to install some noise absorbers.

My family is always happy to have meals at Lao Chengdu. This is our favorite restaurant for Sichuanese food. Nice dining environment, friendly staff and authentic dishes - just love the experience!

Background Nestled in Chinatown, Old Chengdu Sichuan Cuisine stands out with its bright signage, promising authentic fiery flavours. It is a late-night supper stop for those craving bold, numbing heat. Ambience The interior is simple but welcoming, with traditional Chinese decor. Oddly quiet during our visit, where we were seated alone on the top floor, which lacked buzz but ensured quick service. Service Service was good and efficient. Staff were prompt with orders and refills, though the empty dining area may have helped. No complaints. Food & Drink The highlights were century eggs(creamy, well-balanced), stir-fried veggies (crisp and garlicky), and Sichuan grilled fish (flavourful but could have packed more heat)—solid execution. However, spice levels may need adjusting for true chilli heads. Overall A reliable spot for Sichuan classics, especially post-midnight.

串 and vegetables were well done. Execution of mapo tofu also notable. Little bit pricier than surrounding stores but that comes with slightly better quality as well. Dining environment also more comfortable than neighbouring stores.

Lamb skewers were grilled to perfection. We had to order a 2nd serving. Fish was good too. They placed our additional add ons on a separate plate. The fish dish was not overly spicy, oily and salty like many other places. It's Sichuan, so expect some oil and spice but this one did not go overboard. Happy!

My 2nd visit here. Their Signature Spicy Chicken, Prawn Vermicelli & Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs is highly recommended. Food & service is excellent, staff is always attentive & good with their recommendation. Occupying 2 floors, place is very clean. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who love China cuisine.

My go to place for spicy pickled frogs leg. Their other Sichuan dishes are also very good and authentic. Their prices are reasonable even though they are in tourist region. I would recommend if you are into spicy Sichuan food

Among all the food we tried, only the cabbage is nice. Spicy chicken is too spicy for people who cant handle spicy food. Overpriced.
