saw online about this particular stall in Chinatown smith street hawker Centre that sells preserved turnip Hor Fun. Notice on their signboard that they have only 3 items on the menu. the cai por hor fun comes in either prawn or oyster and its SGD$6 as well as the prawn paste chicken. Ordered their horfun with prawn. The stall owner fry the horfun individually and upon order. He fry the horfun skillfully, alot of smoke emitted from the wokhei. Taste wise, strong wok hei taste and the cai po taste is prominent. if i didn't remember wrong, there was 4 prawns inside the horfun. Portion wise, the horfun could be more.

Preserved veg hor fun is a unique and exciting dish that will tantalize your taste buds. Upon your first bite, you will immediately recognize the familiar flavor of fried white carrot cake. However, the unmistakable texture and taste of hor fun will quickly remind you that you are in for a completely different culinary experience. Trust me, this dish will not disappoint and will undoubtedly satisfy your cravings for something new and delicious.

Very unique and very crispy. Hor fun smooth and silky. Comes with three big prawns, though two not so fresh. Needs wait. Cash only.

A tasty dish of preserved veg hor fun by a conscientious chef with years of experience under his belt. I appreciate that he still takes the effort to ensure consistency in each plate of hor fun served by not frying more than two portions each time to maintain the right wok hei-ness. Have been enjoying this dish by uncle since his days in Empress Market aka Farrer Road Hawker centre. $6 order here with four mid-size prawns, filling enough for a meal. Despite the use of cai por, preserved veg in this dry fry hor fan, the flavour is not salty nor does it leave me thirsty at the end of the meal. Hor fun does not tastes oily too. Texture and flavours holds well even for takeaways. No digital payment available, cash only for now. Also, do take note there is another copy-cat stall a stone throw away in another colour section touting the same menu. Go for the real McCoy I would suggest. 😉

Great wok hei and eggy bits of preserved radish. Pity the prawns used were frozen kind and not fresh prawns.
