First n last time here.
- Ordered one curry chicken leg which is cold n curry sauce lack depth n flavour. Most bland curry ever had. I donāt like too spicy or oily but it must at least have some flavour to it. N worse its serve cold. N this leg cost $10.90!!!
- mutton curry meat is tough but the curry this time has more flavour but itās cold as well. I really donāt like food serve cold especially at such pricing in restaurant. I almost spit out every pieces of meat. $6.20 for one small bowl.
- v small piece of fried fish $6.20
- a warm glass of lemon barley $5.50!! Can u believe it???
- when I ask for another curry sauce like assam curry to try, yet the waitress told me since u ordered chicken n mutton, I canāt give u assam curry sauce?? Itās already so expensive why need to be so stingy over a small plate of sauce. My curry chicken already has sauce they gave me another bowl of similar sauce. I really donāt understand the mentality here.
Look at the pictures, the small fish covered in chilli sauce, chicken n mutton n mix veg n a glass of barley lemon.
Total bill $44.93, but they round up to $45. Can they charge customer extra by rounding up? Itās only 7 cents but can u charge customer extra in principle? They told me the system is like that, then your system is principally wrong.
Never go back again.

My partner and I just had lunch at Rendezvous Restaurant Hock Lock Kee, and it was honestly one of the worst dining experiences weāve ever had. Weāre both extremely disappointed and angry that we spent good money on what turned out to be an absolute scam.
⢠The food was cold ā not even lukewarm. Itās shocking that they would serve pre-cooked food thatās been sitting around for who knows how long.
⢠Completely bland. There was zero flavour, no spice, no aroma ā just sad, soggy dishes that tasted like theyād been made with no care whatsoever.
⢠Ridiculously overpriced. For what we got (cold rice, tasteless sides, and watery curry), we might as well have thrown money in the bin. Youāre paying for nostalgia or reputation, not quality.
⢠Lack of variety and freshness. Even the basics like sambal and rendang were underwhelming and felt mass-produced, not like authentic, lovingly-prepared nasi padang at all.
⢠Service was cold too ā no greeting, no smile, just rushed and indifferent.
We shouldāve just taken a Grab to Hjh Maimunah or Rumah Makan Minang instead ā both places actually serve fresh, flavorful, and authentic nasi padang instead of trying this. Lesson learned the hard way.
Honestly, this place is trading on its name and old-school reputation, but the food and experience are completely undeserving of it. We left still hungry, still angry, and feeling completely cheated.
Avoid at all costs. There are way better and more authentic nasi padang places in Singapore. This oneās just coasting on its past and fooling people who donāt know better.

I recently had my lunch at the restaurant. The last time I was here was at least a year ago.
I ordered the Chicken Korma, Sambal Fish, Sayur Lodeh and Begedil with rice. No drinks.
Taste-wise, it was good. The chicken was tender, the fish was crispy, the Sambal was fragrant without being overly spicy. The begedil was average. The downer was the sayur lodeh. I can only say Iāve had much much better tasting ones for a lot lesser than $5 a serving.
However, when you factor in the cost of the meal, it becomes a bit absurd. I paid $32 for what I ordered (listed above) with rice. I mean yes, the food was good, but it wasnāt extraordinary. It wasnāt the kind that would make most people (I believe) have to go back again. And I understand the location warrants some level of premium surcharge. But $32 for essentially a plate of Nasi Padang served in small dishes, I told myself I would not be eating there again unless I strike a windfall.
TLDR; eat there if youāre looking for decent Nasi Padang and youāre not a common salaryman like me.

Authentic, excellent quality, superb service..
Has been around since 1935 š..
A place that you can taste a mixture of nonya, Indonesian, malay and Chinese flavour represented by the rendang.
Rendang chicken and curry chicken, each have it's own flavour, but I prefer the rendang chicken.
Egg plant with chilies looks hot but soothing whole eating, not spicy at all..fragrance of spices and freshly grounded chilies i believe.
The services is exceptional with staffs that are friends with regulars that make dining experience homely.
Food i can consider home cooked flavour that you feel like in a 5 star dining at home....
Price is very affordable as a resturant.
Highly recommended

An amazing day spent in this area.
For lunch, this Indonesian Nasi Padang style really amazed my palate.
The food was on the mild side, which means, not as spicy as authentic Indonesian food but the flavour was on point.
The price is a little higher but I would understand given the location. There were price board which means no hidden cost or price .
Food : 5/5 š
Service : 5/5 ā
Atmosphere : 5/5 āļø (the window seats are great)
Will definitely be here again if I am around the area !

We stopped by Rendezvous Restaurant Hock Lock Kee for a quick lunch and were immediately intrigued by their unique offering of Chinese-style nasi padang.
Took a leap of faith and ordered a few dishes to shareāand we werenāt disappointed. While the spice level was milder than weād hoped for, the food was still delicious and satisfying.
Iām giving it 4 stars mainly because the dishes couldāve been served a bit warmer.
That said, the friendly service and overall experience made up for it.
Weāll definitely be back to try more!

Chanced upon this place when I wanted to eat Ramen but realized that Santouka Ramen is permanently closed. A little pricey but each curry has it's unique taste! My favorite is the mutton curry and curry vegetables! After trying out their curry, I think I will revisit at least once a month!
