Senior Category Manager – Procurement (Maritime)

A global ship management organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Category Manager to lead strategic procurement across multiple categories within a complex, international maritime environment.

Managing a team of 3 people.
Travel to KL once per month.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor cross-functional procurement teams and drive spend reviews and savings initiatives

• Manage procurement categories end-to-end, identifying consolidation and efficiency opportunities

• Act as project lead on strategic sourcing, digital initiatives, and process improvements

• Analyse spend data to deliver cost savings, value-for-money, and quality improvements

• Negotiate and manage frame agreements, including volume rebates and compliance

• Build strategic, long-term relationships with key global maritime suppliers

• Ensure governance, compliance, and accurate rebate management aligned with client agreements

Requirements

• 10+ years’ experience in Procurement or Supply Chain, with 5+ years in senior/category management

• Strong commercial and financial acumen (rebates, contracts, client accounting)

• Maritime industry knowledge and supplier landscape awareness

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing and high-level negotiations

• Strong data and systems skills (e.g. ERP, Power BI, SharePoint)

• Familiarity with ESG within procurement or maritime environments

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
