Recently tried the kaya toast and coffee at Ya Kun Toast, and both were really enjoyable. The toast was nicely crisp with just the right amount of sweet kaya, and it paired well with the coffee. It can feel a bit rich after the meal, though.
Adequate seats though you have to wait quite a bit for your order when it’s crowded. Seems like there’s tons of Japanese tourists here which I found fascinating hahaha. Great to stop by for breakfast! 🥰💕
Lovely third wave coffee...the espresso and macchiato are top notch. Highly recommend. Croissants are Asian style so can't really recommend. However definitely a great coffee to start your day!
On Christmas Eve, my family and I had lunch at Craftsmen Coffee, nestled in a cozy corner at Clarke Quay Central. The ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a festive meal.
We enjoyed an array of dishes, starting with the Smoked Salmon Brioche (sadly not in the picture), followed by the hearty Big Breakfast and the White Wine Prawn Spaghetti. The food was generally delightful, with flavors that left a lasting impression. The cappuccino was perfectly brewed, striking a balance between boldness and creaminess, while the Valrhona chocolate was a rich and decadent treat, adding a touch of indulgence to the meal.
However, not everything was flawless. The Strawberry and Avocado Smoothie, though refreshing in concept, turned out to be overwhelmingly sweet, overpowering the natural flavors. Meanwhile, the White Wine Prawn Spaghetti, though delicious, was unexpectedly spicy, which might not suit everyone's palate.
Despite these minor setbacks, the overall experience was enjoyable, and the quality of the food and drinks deserves praise. A solid 4/5 rating for this memorable Christmas Eve lunch.
Craftsman's has decaf so we dropped by after lunch on a Sunday. I got a double shot flat white (Brazilian beans) and my wife ordered decaf cortado. Sadly both were quite disappointing. The flat white was bitter and clearly over extracted. Not a hint of sweetness or any nuances of the bean. The decaf was even worse. It had some promising aromas but just tasted flat and bitter. We won't be coming back
Ordered white wine prawn pasta, kidney went overdrive after the first bite, so effing salty, had to send this back to the kitchen. The second attempt by the chef was a bit better but also watery. Prawn was good though.
GOOD COFFEE!! I ordered a strong flat white and was not disappointed. The coffee was a little bitter on the nose, but taste was smooth and satisfying. Earl Grey Tea was lovely and the croissant was also fresh and tasty.
Service was very quick and polite and the store was clean and plenty of seating.
