Located in the 2nd floor and next to it, there are some michelin guide hawker. Enjoying traditional ice chendol in the hot day, so refreshing. Wish I could ate it every day during my stay. It comes in a small portion so don't worry not to finish it.

The Chendol is very old-school and very traditional - with the recipe dating back to 1950. And all of the components that make up the Chendol were very good when my friend and I had them today. And it is reasonably priced at $2.80 each. Service at this stall was friendly and the dining ambience was what you would expect at an old hawker centre that is in need of refurbishment - but some would say that that it is why the place has a nostalgic charm about it.

My favourite chendol place but the quality had dropped when I had it yesterday. The green jelly was soft and tasteless and some red beans were hard. Price has also increased a few times over the past 3 years or so from $2 to $2.50 then $2,80 while serving remains the same. Chinatown being an elderly centric place, stall owner should consider not increasing the price so frequently. With this type of price tag and quality, I can get the same thing elsewhere.

Very good chendol, full of gula melaka as it should be. It reminds me of the great chendol that we used to eat as treats when we were young in the 70s.

Having tried the other two popular chendol brands, Nyona and Ye Tang, I found Old Amoy Chendol to be a refreshing change. The stall's single item menu ensures quick service, even during busy peak hours. Plus, the smaller portion here made this yummy dessert a less guilty indulgence. One standout feature of this rendition of the exceptionally creamy coconut milk. It's the thickest and most satisfying among the three brands I've tried. The ice shavings are also fine and smooth. While the red bean is tasty, I would have preferred whole beans over paste for a more satisfying crunch. Oddly, the chendol jellies, although burst with pandan fragrant, was mushy and lacked the typical springiness. I couldn't help but wonder if I had simply received a less-than-ideal batch. Thankfully, the gula melaka, the soul of any chendol, was fragrant and comparable to the other two brands. Overall, this is an above average Chendol and worth your calories if you don't mind the mushy chendol jellies.

The chendol was okay, nothing really special or memorable. It tasted fine but didn’t really stand out. It was refreshing enough for a hot day, but I wouldn’t call it a must-try. If you happen to be nearby and want a simple dessert, it does the job.

This is a chain of stalls that sells Chendol. Chendol is a local dessert that’s served cold. Essentially, it’s a heap of shaved ice served in a bowl, topped with cold pressed coconut milk, chendol (green worm like Pandan jelly), red beans and Gula Melaka. Their Gula Melaka is charcoal brewed. Mix them all up and savor each mouthful. 😋 I like that they put up a sign in front of their stall which describes what goes into their Chendol. Great local dessert for a hot day or after your meals. 👍🏻

The overall taste seems to be nothing special and almost the same taste that can get in any food center. I think if they use soft blended ice the overall taste will be much better. But I personally still prefer the green cendol that is soaked in the coconut milk before serving. Otherwise, it is nothing special! Located at Chinatown Complex Market and Food Center. Is a very big hawker center. I walk a few rounds to find this stall. Seem to be crowded at any time even after lunch peak. Photo: 17-Jan-2024 , 2.10pm

Had a bowl this morning & it was delicious. The pandan jelly was soft & fragrant, the coconut milk rich & creamy & the gula melaka added a deep, caramel-like sweetness that tied it all together nicely. The adzuki beans were tender & flavourful, cooked to a thick, almost paste-like consistency.

Easiest way to find the stall is up the escalator just next to CK instead of the one in the food centre. One of my fave chendol places with fragrant pandan jelly and nice thick gula melaka. The lady who mans the stall is super fast and efficient. I managed to order dine in + take away together without requeuing and was able to eat there first without worrying about the ta bao melting as she remembered to prep them later. 👍🏻
