Old school wanton noodles. Good to fix your wanton noodles craving. The Charsiew were plump and generous. I felt for the wanton, dough filling was quite a lot in comparison to the meet and noodles had a bit of starchy (not smooth feel). Less dough filling would be nicer. But this could be personal preference.
I've eaten at this stall for a couple of time, simply love their noodles. I ordered takeaway this time round as I've just had lunch, can't resist ordering takeaway for dinner. Their noodles is cook to my liking, springy and nicely seasoned. Be sure to ask for extra chilli as their home made chilli sauce is very fragrant. They close at 2.30pm, be sure to be there early.
The wanton mee looks very ordinary but cooked by young man. The noodles are very springy but not undercooked. The sauce is quite good the likes of Eng noodles but I still prefer the latter. The char siew is really very tender (wonder how they did it) but it’s quite tasteless to me. The wanton and soup taste quite nice too.
Order their wantan mee with add-on of their dumplings to try. The egg noodle was cook until very QQ and the sauce mix well together with noodle. The char siew meat is thick and generous. For the dumpling and wantan, it is wrap with generous ingredient but for taste wise I find it above average. Fragrant enough.
This wanton mee was old school, with the chewy egg noodles and you have to mix the pork lard with the chilli yourself.
Chilli could be better, not so spicy. Pork lard pairs well.
The charsiew was quite nice indeed and i added extra to make me fuller.
Overall was quite a good plate of Wtm.
I normally love china cuisine but this is the first time I am leaving a half-hearted review. The bbq stuff looks great, the variety is good too but its WAY too salty. I couldnt stomach it, probably only had 2. Actually all the dishes are extremely salty. I quite like the beef tendon pot and would be perfect if its less salty. The 辣子鸡 is okay but my husband hates the coriander on it and it lacks the spicy fragrant note. I mean I could be this particular day the chef just went salt bae on the food but thanksbutnothanks..I wouldnt try it again.
Recommendation from our colleagues to 爆鼎烧烤. The cold dishes were very appetizing. The barbecue meats were not bad also, should be more appealing to youngsters and meat eater. Live2nJOY
Given the huge portion of the food, I think it is very reasonably priced. We've ordered their 水煮鱼,cereal prawns, 辣子鸡,6 to 7 skewers, 2 cans of drink for dinner and it costs us SGD 64.
I highly recommend their 水煮鱼. For that huge bowl, it only costs SGD 15! I especially love the beansprouts. Very tasty. Their cereal prawn is a killer too. The cereals were covered with eggs and the prawns were fresh. 辣子鸡 is optional though. I would prefer to spend more on the skewers instead.
The restaurant can be quite packed during peak hours so it may be a little difficult to catch the attention of the waitresses. And it can be a little noisy as well.
Literally unable to use your own data in the restaurant as the reception is really bad. They do provide wifi though. Password is written on the fridge. 😁
Overall, I would definitely go back again.
In fact, I've been there 3x in a month 🤭
A reasonable priced Chinese restaurant in Chinatown and they have points accumulated for every dollar spent which u can use to redeem for next my dining.
I also like the interesting box with candles inside to maintain my skewers warm.
