The pig trotter rice is nice, the skin melt in the mouth & fall off from the bone very easily, though the meat not much. But i like the stickiness, groovy of the skin, go well with the rice which i think they used pearl rice. I think if want more meat, i should go for the 卤肉饭next time or order the whole pig trotter rice which only cost $6.5.
Woo.. Yeah! One of the most enjoyable braised pork knuckle with rice meals I had. I saw the beautifully braised pig tails, the colour of the gelatin smooth skin had me ordering a helping. Saw the plump intestine head soaking in the braise, and I had to have it too. As you can see in my photos, it became a nice big plate. Texture of each dish was exactly what I loved. Juicy, not overly salty, melt in my mouth gelatin. Yummy.
The stall is just opposite of XLB with michelin star, i decided to order here instead and tried their fried dumpling and XLB bcos the stall has no queue.
Uncle who served me is friendly and and will give u a vibe that he loves what he is doing, he even served me the ginger sauce instead of me getting in.
It is worth to try, maybe they just need a break and get michelin star.
When u get to go around the area- pls give them a shot.
Gotta support the underdog. Perfectly fine food and I’d say 90% similar to the popular stall just opposite. And it’s cheaper too. Try it once and you’ll know
A really nice quiet cafe hidden up on the 4th floor of this building. Comfortable place to get some work done or to get away from the bustle of Chinatown and grab a coffee. They have an outdoor seating area to grab drinks and food in the evenings as well 👍🏼
