Long Phung Vietnamese Cuisine is one of Singapore's most celebrated Vietnamese restaurants, established in 2009 by Chi Lan from Ho Chi Minh City who brought 100% authentic Vietnamese flavors to Joo Chiat Road without compromising for local tastes. Located at 159 Joo Chiat Road, this no-frills establishment with its characteristic yellow plastic chairs and wall-mounted menu creates an atmosphere reminiscent of roadside eateries in Saigon. Operating from 1pm to 2am, Long Phung has earned recognition as the best Vietnamese restaurant by both the Vietnamese community and locals through word-of-mouth reputation built over more than a decade. Their signature dishes include Pho Dac Biet (.90) featuring special beef soup with slices of beef, beef balls, and egg, crowd-favorite Bun Thit Nuong (grilled pork vermicelli) with tender meat and fresh herbs, and Com Tam (broken rice) served with grilled meats and pickled vegetables. The extensive menu also features unique items like tilapia hotpot, quail, and seasnail, alongside traditional fresh and fried spring rolls. With no service charge or GST and meals averaging 5 per person, Long Phung delivers exceptional value while maintaining authentic Vietnamese culinary traditions that transport diners to the streets of Vietnam.
This restaurant has a good selection of Vietnamese dishes of which the noodle soups are really tasty. Great soup broth that is clear and well seasoned. Very fast service with reasonable prices (No service charge). Decent portion that is not too small. The restaurant also provides a basket of different seasonings and sauces for diners to use at will. The only negative thing is that the artificial lime/lemon liquid tastes and smells like lemon dishwashing liquid.

The order went without problems, the possibility to pay also by card. The operator understands a little English which is an advantage. There is no service fee, only tax. Mi Nuoc Hai San was okay, from the menu photo I didn't expect so much broccoli there, the calamari was a bit tough.

Found the noodles really flavourful and it went really well with the chilli, the prawns, meat slices and offals (may not be for everyone but I found them clean) in the noodles were cooked well. The bitter gourd soup was quite ok, wouldn't really recommend it for the price.
Also tried the Jackfruit smoothie (unfortately no picture). It had the authentic taste of the jackfruit albeit being quite sweet. Still worth a try though!

The Pho Dac Biet (special noodle soup) had a good serving of noodles, sliced beef and beef balls. The broth was ok although not as flavorful. The PhnomPenh noodle soup had a good serving of noodles and ingredients but the broth was bland. The grilled pork, spring rolls with rice noodles was tasty. The grilled pork was marinated well and was flavorful.

My summer exchange buddy and I were wandering around looking for dinner when we stumbled upon this unassuming corner store. It looked authentic and fuss-free — exactly the kind of place that draws us in, even without air-con.
We had our usual: pho and shared some spring rolls. While the pho didn’t beat our favourite spot back home at Shaw Centre, the vibes here were unmistakably Vietnamese.
