Having tried the other two popular chendol brands, Nyona and Ye Tang, I found Old Amoy Chendol to be a refreshing change. The stall's single item menu ensures quick service, even during busy peak hours. Plus, the smaller portion here made this yummy dessert a less guilty indulgence. One standout feature of this rendition of the exceptionally creamy coconut milk. It's the thickest and most satisfying among the three brands I've tried. The ice shavings are also fine and smooth. While the red bean is tasty, I would have preferred whole beans over paste for a more satisfying crunch. Oddly, the chendol jellies, although burst with pandan fragrant, was mushy and lacked the typical springiness. I couldn't help but wonder if I had simply received a less-than-ideal batch. Thankfully, the gula melaka, the soul of any chendol, was fragrant and comparable to the other two brands. Overall, this is an above average Chendol and worth your calories if you don't mind the mushy chendol jellies.

The overall taste seems to be nothing special and almost the same taste that can get in any food center. I think if they use soft blended ice the overall taste will be much better. But I personally still prefer the green cendol that is soaked in the coconut milk before serving. Otherwise, it is nothing special! Located at Chinatown Complex Market and Food Center. Easiest way to find the stall is up the escalator just next to CK instead of the one in the food centre. One of my fave chendol places with fragrant pandan jelly and nice thick gula melaka. The lady who mans the stall is super fast and efficient. I managed to order dine in + take away together without requeuing and was able to eat there first without worrying about the ta bao melting as she remembered to prep them later. 👍🏻

Located in the 2nd floor and next to it, there are some michelin guide hawker. Enjoying traditional ice chendol in the hot day, so refreshing. Wish I could ate it every day during my stay. It comes in a small portion so don't worry not to finish it.
