Chinatown Stamp Rally 2026: How It Works and When to Join

Chinatown Stamp Rally 2026 visitor guide: how layered stamping works, where past editions started, and what to expect when Mid-Autumn light-up returns 18 Sep–20 Oct.

Why people are searching for the Chinatown Stamp Rally 2026

The Chinatown stamp rally is one of the easiest free activities for visitors. You collect a card, walk the historic streets, stamp at participating shops, and redeem a souvenir — usually a layered postcard. It is designed for families, first-time tourists, and anyone who wants a reason to enter heritage stores instead of only photographing the facades.

The second-edition rally has already wrapped. Mid-Autumn editions in recent years ran through the full street light-up. In 2025 the free layered-stamping activity ran from 18 September to 20 October. The 2026 Mid-Autumn light-up uses the same calendar window — 18 September to 20 October 2026 — and that is the period to watch for the next official station list.

How a Chinatown stamp rally usually works

  1. Pick up a blank stamp card or postcard at a start point. Recent editions have used Yue Hwa Chinese Products, festival booths, or a mall concierge such as Chinatown Point.
  2. Walk the listed stops. Typical streets are Pagoda Street, Smith Street, Trengganu Street, Sago Street, and Mosque Street, plus a few indoor shops.
  3. Collect every layer or every required stamp. Some editions use a single layered illustration that only completes when every station is visited.
  4. Return to the redemption counter for a free souvenir postcard or a small festive gift while stocks last.

There is no ticket and no registration for the public street versions. Opening hours follow the shops, often roughly 10am to 5:30pm for indoor stamps, with evening lanterns as a separate walk after you finish.

What is confirmed for 2026

  • Mid-Autumn street light-up: 18 September – 20 October 2026, 7pm–midnight
  • Opening ceremony: 18 September, 7pm, Kreta Ayer Square
  • Second-edition 2026 rally: concluded
  • Next Mid-Autumn station list: announced by Chinatown Festivals / participating merchants closer to 18 September

We will update this article with 2026 start points, shop names, and redemption hours the day they are published. Until then, treat the light-up dates as the planning window and check back here or at chinatownfestivals.sg.

Make a day of it even before the card drops

The rally is a walking tour with a souvenir attached. You can run the same loop now:

  • Start at Chinatown MRT Exit A and walk Pagoda Street to the heritage trail
  • Visit Sri Mariamman Temple and the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple
  • Eat at Lian Xin Vegetarian Food Court or Chinatown Complex
  • Shop Yue Hwa and the street market, then return after 7pm once lanterns are lit from 18 September
