Sri Mariamman Temple will hold Theemithi, the fire-walking festival, on Sunday 1 November 2026. Hindu Endowments Board published the date. The Straits Times repeated it. The 2026 brochure puts Padukalam, the pit, at 04:00. If you live on South Bridge Road you will hear the drums before dawn. If you are coming in from elsewhere, that is the hour to aim for, not a 10am tourist slot.
Where to stand
The temple is at 244 South Bridge Road, between Pagoda Street and Temple Street. Jamae Mosque is next door. Male devotees walking the pit start at Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple on Serangoon Road, which is Little India, and end here. You watch the Chinatown end. Stay on the five-foot way. Do not sit on the temple steps. Do not put a tripod in the procession line. Shoes off if you go inside later. Shoulders and knees covered.

If you meant to walk, not watch
Paalkudam, angaprathachanam, kumbiduthandam, and fire-pit walking still need online registration. HEB said there are no walk-in ritual tickets. Registration opened 24 September and closes 31 October 2026, 23:00. Use the HEB fire-walking page or events.smt.org.sg/events. Men aged 16 to 21 who want the pit must register in person at the temple 10 to 26 October, 19:00 to 20:00, with a parent or guardian. That in-person window ends in ten days from 16 October.
The next evening, Keong Saik
Monday 2 November from 18:00, the Silver Chariot of Sri Drowpathai Amman stops first at Sri Layan Sithi Vinayagar Temple on Keong Saik Road, then Waterloo Street and the Serangoon Road temples. If 04:00 on Sunday is impossible, the chariot on Keong Saik is the in-precinct follow-on. Everton Park and Bukit Merah stops on 30 and 31 October are outside this district.
