Finally my dream of dining in a Michelin Star restaurant came true at Hawker Chan in Singapore. Wonderful food, quiet ambience and quick service made the overall experience worth the amount spent. The prices are
very comparable to the food prices at other hawker centers but the quality and experience is better.
They also served vegetable dishes.
A must visit place for everyone who visits Singapore.
Hawker Chan Restaurant was awarded a Michelin Star from 2016 to 2021. Once very famous for their Soya Sauce chicken, but over the years, stiff competition from others have took some shine off this street hawker turned restaurant owner's magical success story.
We arrived at around 11.45am. and the restaurant was already quite packed with diners. We ordered half a chicken and 3 noodles and waited for around 15 minutes before our number was called.
The soya sauce chicken was OK, but the Noodles was a little too stiff for my liking as I preferred the traditional softer eggs noodles.
👍 Hawker Chan is delicious—the roast duck rice and duck noodles were tasty, though the noodles were a bit oily. The price is reasonable, and when I came before noon there was no queue. The place is easy to find, not far from Chinatown station. I’ll definitely come again next time.
Food was excellent. Very low cost. They had good drinks like sugar cane juice. Great tasting soy sauce chicken, char sui and roast pork with the crispy skin! Rice with the secret soy sauce was fantastic. The soup was super hot, be careful. Wasn’t that good. Highly recommend visiting and trying the food. This is a fast food joint. Don’t expect service like you get from a proper Michelin rated restaurant.
The place is located right by the roadside, so it’s very easy to find. The dining area is spacious, clean, and has a cozy atmosphere, a nice spot to sit down and enjoy a meal. The service was fast and efficient, and the prices are quite affordable, which was a pleasant surprise considering it's a Michelin starred place.
This was actually my first time trying Michelin starred food, so I came in with pretty high expectations. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t really live up to the hype. The food was just okay, nothing particularly special in terms of flavor or presentation. What disappointed me the most was that it was served completely cold, not even slightly warm. That definitely affected the overall impression of the meal.
While the environment and service were good, I personally expected more from a restaurant with Michelin recognition, especially in terms of the food quality and serving temperature. It might still be worth trying for the experience, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.
For those who like a subtle bak kut teh broth, they will like Song Fa’s BKT, but I personally prefer a more richer and peppery taste. 😌
The meat of the Prime Spare Ribs was fork tender but pretty tasteless after being boiled for so long. The thick dark soy sauce provided was a bit weird to me for dipping sauce. 😓
They refill your soup which is a nice touch. Overall friendly staff and clean environment contributed a positive dining experience. 🙂
This is one of Singapore’s most famous bak kut teh spots, so I had to try it for myself.
Every outlet draws a crowd — I waited about 20–30 minutes in line alone. Luckily, I’d placed my order in advance, so the dishes came out quickly once I got a seat.
The soup was rich, fragrant, and packed with flavor. It had quite a peppery kick, but still within my comfort zone. The pork ribs were tender and tasty, and I loved that you could get unlimited soup refills.
It’s always busy, so I didn’t expect much in terms of ambience, but the service was friendly and efficient enough.
Venue: in a busy shopping mall. Very packed. Noisy. Air-conditioned. Causal setting. All utensils and seasonings are already available at each table. There is a tap for brewing tea at our table. No queue when we came at 6pm on Thursday night. --- 7.3/10
Service: to be seated, then servers provided wet tissue and menu for us soon. Order at the table (needed to flag them). Order v8a QR code in the queue at rush hours. Food served very fast together, but faster than beverages. Only gave us one disposable glove for 4 people and 2 bowls of big ribs soup. Asked to refill soup once, then refill 2 more times automatically. Pay at the cashier before you leave. --- 7.1/10
F&B: normal portion. Reasonable prices. Soup with pepper flavor but not too strong.

A Singapore local cuisine. Popular chain of restaurants servicing primarily pork ribs with herbal soup. Came on lunch time just when it opened at 11am. Come early as this is a high traffic store tourist frequents and it is a rather small branch. There is a lunch set you can order that comes with the mains, 2 sides and a drink. The best part of this experience, the staff will keep refilling your soup. Drink up, it’s a pepper-ily goodness.
The food taste is consistent. I liked the service here. Waitress very courteous and proactive. Came here with 2 persons but only ordered 1 bowl of rice, the waitress gave us empty bowl without being asked. And they proactively refill the soup..
First class service..
