We thought there would be all the options we saw on Google review photos, but when we arrived, they only have exactly 2 options: 1 kind of noodles and 1 rice & veggie portion. It's a Saturday lunch time with many customers but that few options. No laksa, no spaghetti, nothing we saw on the review. The staff were also not friendly. The noodles have no veggies at all. I like the restaurant's mission (nonprofit, supporting local people with special needs) though. It's SGD4.2 per bowl.
Very good atmosphere to have vegetarian food.. Well decorated and cosy. First time here..after hearing many good reviews on the foods. Indeed well expected..
Food price very reasonable..
The only setback is one, the food counter staff, maybe is coming break time or so.. He also preparing some ingredients.. I placed my spaghetti set.. He just keep preparing his general ingredients.. But seems like not even have intention to prepare my order.. as it's lasted for a couple of minutes. Then I asked if he knows that I placed an order.. then he start saying waiting for the stove to heat up..
Second is making payment.. the payment machine stop working.. As I was told there's a breaktime from 2.30pm onwards.. which is also their breaktime somehow.. So do avoid this timing.
But overall experience is good.. will definitely come again to try out other dishes..
Visited the place on a Sunday afternoon. Nested in the basement of Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, my initial assumption was that it should be a small quaint little eatery with a few visitors. Was I wrong totally!
This place was huge and crowded with people! Plenty of food options available too! Queue was fast during ordering and payment, and the staff were helpful. Place was clean and cooling on a hot afternoon.
$4.20 for a plate of rice with 3 side dishes. Typical food court pricing. Taste was acceptable. They offered free plain water too.
A good and comfy place for a meal. Too bad it closes at 5pm.
First Visit to the Temple Cafeteria – A Pleasant Surprise!
This afternoon, I visited the vegetarian cafeteria at the temple for lunch—it was my first time there, and I was genuinely impressed! The place had a calm, welcoming vibe, and the food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced.
I ordered their Lor Mee, and for just $4.20, the portion was generous and satisfying. Highly recommended if you’re nearby the temple—definitely worth a visit for a tasty, affordable vegetarian meal.
I’ll be going back again soon—especially since the Western food stall wasn’t open today. Looking forward to trying more dishes next time!
Happy to see how they have evolved over time to better arrange the seating and queuing areas to ease the congestion. Staff are fast and efficient. Payment is faster than ever.
Now it's just up to the visitors to improve their sense of civic mindedness; had an old lady stretch out her arm to block my path in order to overtake (congrats, you're now 30cm ahead of me), and had my butt touched during queuing. First world facilities, third world users.
Had lunch with colleagues here. Tried pork chop dry noodles and grass jelly glutinous rice. Both are tasty.
Had constant refills for jasmine tea which is a plus.
We were drawn to the new dishes on the menu at Din Tai Fung Chinatown Point and decided to dine in for dinner on December 28. The welcoming and approachable staff made us feel right at home. The menu offers healthier choices eg. vegetarian dumplings and other vegan dishes. We were happy to note that the self ordering option also allows the selection of special dietary requests such as no meat broth, no MSG, and no or less salt.
A must-try dish is the Shrimp Paste chicken wings. We enjoyed them so much that we ordered an additional plate of six! Other standout dishes included the deep-fried tofu (chef's recommended dish) , gourd shrimp xiao long bao, and spinach with beancurd, each offering a uniquely delightful flavor.
We were particularly impressed with the service from Cui Ping, who was incredibly attentive. She ensured our glasses were topped up with warm water when needed without us having to request. Her thoughtful gesture enhanced our dining experience.
The dishes were appetizing, and with Din Tai Fung offering a 15% discount for a minimum spend of $83 via Grab Payment, the value was exceptional.
Lastly, thumbs up for the excellent service and food quality at the newly opened Chinatown Branch. We’ll definitely return to try other dishes on the menu.
Had a wonderful experience at this place. Was serviced excellently by Kok Siong and Siew Yi at Chinatown Point on 30 May 5.04pm. I accidentally ordered an extra crabmeat and pork xiao long bao but Kok Siong helped me to cancel the order immediately after I informed him of the incident. He was courteous and attentive to our table throughout my dining experience, same goes to Siew Yi. My water was refilled instantly after my cup was empty. Excellent service, 10/10 would dine in again. Thank you for the wonderful experience! Kudos!
The quality here is standard compared to other DTFs around.
You can't go wrong with popular dishes such as XLB, egg and shrimp fried rice, etc. Those that are mentioned frequently by all the reviews here.
One highlight from my experience here is the service. It's prompt, for example if you're having hot tea, your cup will never be empty. The staff here are all (from the wait staff to servers to cashier) friendly as well.
I had an amazing time at Din Tai Fung's newest outlet at Chinatown Point with my family!
You can’t leave Din Tai Fung without having the Fried Rice with Pork Chop & Eggs — it's the perfect balance of savory and satisfying, pairs superbly well with their in-house chilli. My other must-order items are Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao and Shrimp & Pork Wantons in Superior Chicken Broth.
We also tried some new menu items such as the Steamed Choco Lava Bun and the Mama Mochi Chocolate Xiao Long Bao, which both have gooey chocolate oozing out.
