I’m a fan of chicken rice and Chiew Kee ‘s version does not disappoint! It is a family restaurant serving soya sauce chicken created using a traditional recipe and slow braised in a secret blend of herbs, spices, and soya sauce until tender and aromatic.
🍗 We got the half chicken ($18) and rice and noodles to go along with it. The portion was substantial and chicken meat was tender and well marinated with the soya sauce flavor. It went well with rice. The noodles are a good option too - springy with good texture. Get the vegetables to balance out your meal!
🥟 The dumpling soup was also a good side to have. Dumplings were relatively large and packed with ingredients inside.
Would recommend checking them out if you’re in the Chinatown area! Seats are aplenty and location is just a few min walk away from Chinatown mrt.

Had soy sauce chicken drumstick noodle ($7.50) for lunch, was extremely good. Chicken was tender, noodle al denta, soup was good. Aircon & alfresco dining available.
There’s something so comforting about lunch at Chiew Kee Noodle House—a place that feels like stepping back into old-school Singapore. Perfect for those cravings for tender soya sauce chicken, it’s a warm hug of nostalgia and flavor.
We went for their classic menu, complete with classic soy-braised eggs. The springy egg noodles and silky hor fun were spot-on, while the blanched vegetables with crunchy fried shallots made this a balanced yummy meal. Don’t forget their tangy pickled green chili and chili sauce to satisfy the retro tastebuds. I like to drizzled more of their sauces over the chicken, eggs and noodles.
Since 1949, Chiew Kee has been delighting Singaporeans with its soya sauce chicken, slow-braised using the same original recipe crafted by their founder. Prepared by the third generation of the Chiew family in consistent flavors, this iconic dish continues to bring comfort & joy to loyal fans & new visitors alike.
If you’re looking for familiar, timeless flavors with a touch of history, this is the spot to visit.
Absolutely loved our meal at Chiew Kee! We had the half chicken with rice and noodles, dumpling soup, braised egg, vegetables, and lime juice. The chicken was incredibly tender, and the noodles were bursting with flavor. Everything was perfectly cooked and satisfying. The lime juice added a refreshing touch to the meal. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious and authentic flavors! 😋
There are 2 shops with similar sounding names along this street. Both shops are related, but each shop is run separately of each other.
This shop is more modern and has air conditioning.
Their signature is their soya sauce chicken which you can pair with rice, egg noodles or kway teow.
I usually order the egg noodles which were al dente. I had the chicken breast which was succulent. The sauce was could have been more.
Also had the dumpling in soup. This was a little skinny with little filling.
Downside: You may need to share tables during busy periods.
Enjoyed the soya sauce chicken very much! It was so tender and so well braised! Love that ample savoury sauce was also given! Enjoy it with either rice, qq noodles or hor fun. We also got their dumpling soup and vegetables with oyster sauce. Great sides for the meal! Get some cold lime juice to quench thirst!
Food was ok but the experience was destroyed by the server’s attitude. Very pushy once we entered the restaurant, kept pushing us to order and rolled his eyes when I told him I needed time to look and think about what to get. Will not go again even though the food was ok.
We recently visited and tried their signature Soya Sauce Chicken. It’s slow-braised in their original family secret blend of herbs, spices, and soya sauce until tender and aromatic, then served with a robust, salty-savoury dark sauce that’s bursting with flavor and nostalgia.
We paired the tender, flavorful chicken with:
- Noodles, Chiew Kee's most popular side, light and springy, perfectly soaking up the rich, savory sauce.
- Dumpling soup
Plump handmade dumplings filled with minced meat and mushrooms, served in a clear, comforting broth.
- Vegetables with Oyster Sauce
Simple yet satisfying, crunchy Hong Kong chye sim in a glossy oyster sauce.
Other than these, we also ordered lime juice, which was refreshing and perfectly complemented the meal.
Oh, by the way if you love spicy food, be sure to pair the chicken with their chili sauce for an extra kick!
The restaurant is air-conditioned, clean, and comfortable, making it an ideal spot for dining with friends and family.
Dumping 3pcs $1 only (dining in only )
Noodle with vegetables $1.8 only (dining in only )
Chicken was classic soy sauce flavor
Friendly staff and aunties
Nice try !!!!
This is one of my go-to stalls for fried Hokkien Mee.
The owner is friendly and cooks each order with pride.
The noodles start from $5 and has yellow noodles, bee hoon, egg, prawns and sliced boiled pork belly.
The noodles has wok hei and is flavorful thanks to the prawn broth that the noodles simmer in while cooking.
Must try! 👍🏻👍🏻😋
